This blog is slightly different from normal – it's in video format. This time our Data Architect Mika continues to explore new Cloud Data Warehouse features he listed on his previous blog The State of Cloud Data Warehouses. This time, Mika explores the previously announced Snowflake Container Services, which is on preview at AWS. He tests Daniel Palma's instructions on how to set up Doom to run inside Container Services.
Now, why Doom, you ask? Besides being a classic game, it's also a nod to the internet trend where folks find ways to play Doom on, well, pretty much anything with a screen. From microwaves to smartwatches, and even tiny microbes. And now, thanks to Snowflake's Container Services, we're bringing this madness into Snowflake.
In the accompanying YouTube video, Mika takes you on a laid-back journey through the process of running Doom inside Snowflake. Picture this: We'll be chilling out, showing you the ropes from accessing Snowflake's docs to deploying the Docker image with Doom's code. Seeing Doom kickin' back in Snowflake is a sight to behold, and trust us, it's easier than you might think with Snowflake's container services.
